Join us for a 60-minute special edition of the Fuel for Thought Learning Series which will focus on how small and diverse businesses (SDBs) can maximize their opportunities to work directly with the shale gas industry. The webinar is being jointly hosted by Shale POWER and AIM Higher.
Under Act 13 of 2012, Pennsylvania’s shale gas industry is required to identify potential contractors by utilizing an online supplier database maintained by the PA Department of General Services. Learn how to navigate this certification process to ensure that your business is visible to potential partners within the shale gas industry. Certification also positions companies to bid on and receive government contracts, which often prioritize opportunities to partner with SDBs.
A shale industry representative will also review the Act's requirements, what it takes to work for the industry and opportunities across the Appalachian Basin for engagement.
Additionally, Lenora Leasure, Program Manager of the JARI PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center), will discuss what a PTAC is and the services available to help a business looking to become a certified SDB. She will share how you can get assistance with tasks including: SAM Registration, Bid Match, solicitation support and other contractor requirements.
Lenora will also talk about the process of applying for federal small business certifications (Women-owned Small Business, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUB Zone, 8A) and the benefits of being certified.
