Mindfulness, what I originally called Selective Awareness in my first book in 1973, is the fundamental human ability to be fully present. When you are being mindful, you are consciously aware of where you are and what you are doing, you feel a quality of inner peace, and you do not overreact or become overwhelmed by events in your surroundings. You already possess the potential to be mindful and have experienced it at least occasionally, but to truly benefit from it you will need to learn how to access it.
Mindfulness reduces stress, enhances our creativity and performance, and opens us to insight and spiritual awareness.
In this webinar, following some mindfulness meditations, we will watch the video meditation “The Story of Life,” and mindfully explore the discover the kind of thinking that produces Love, Life, and Healing. We will then explore the opposite kind of thinking native to the limbic system, the monkey mind, that produces conflict, and Violence.
The key to global healing, if we choose to use it happens at the individual level first, and involves learning the value and regular use of the creative/integrative thinking that leads to wholeness and life.
