Is voter suppression the “new normal” in American politics? Learn what is happening now in Arizona and nationally with panelists who are in the midst of this fight. The panel will lead off with an opening statement by Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva, a sponsor of a current anti- voter suppression bills in Congress. Panelists will include Pima County Recorder Gabriella Cázares-Kelly, the first indigenous woman ever elected county-wide, who deals with voter registration; director Gavin Guerra of Let The People Decide which traces the history of voter suppression in the US; Flavio Bravo, director of the Arizona Democracy Collaborative; and and Montserrat Arredondo, Executive Director of One Arizona, building the culture of civic engagement in Arizona.
