Kona Haque
Group Head of Research @ED&F Man
Kona Haque joined ED&F Man in May 2014 as Group Head of Research, responsible for the company’s commodity and macro-economic research team (including Man sugar, Volcafe coffee, shipping and pulses). She joined from Macquarie Bank where she was responsible for agriculture and soft commodities research for 7 years. Previously, Kona spent 4 years as Senior Commodities Editor at the Economist Group. She has also worked for a shipping consultancy as Director of Bulk Commodities and spent 4 years at Metal Bulletin Research, specialising in base metals. Other experience includes working as an Economist for a grains market information provider and with the United Nations in Rome, Italy. Kona has an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a BSc in Agricultural Economics from Reading University.
Andy Duff
Global Strategist for Sugar @Rabobank
Andy Duff is Rabobank´s global strategist for the sugar sector. He is also the head of Rabobank Brazil´s research team in São Paulo, Brazil, where he has been based since 2007. Before joining Rabobank, Andy spent six years working at LMC International. He has a degree in Applied Biology from Cambridge University, and a Masters degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading.
John Stansfield
Analyst/Trader @Group Sopex
John has been analyzing the sugar and ethanol market for over 25 years. He started his career as an Agricultural Economist at the Home-Grown Cereals Authority in London, covering global grains and oilseeds markets. He has worked at a number of International Trade houses in London and Geneva and now works for the Belgian family-owned firm Group Sopex. He works alongside the traders and devises fundamentally-based trading ideas. He also spent 3 years in the US working for the commodity-focused hedge fund Ospraie. John has a BSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
