"Excellence Chat" with The Inclusion Project about the REDI Fundamentals
The REDI Fundamentals session will take participants through rudimentary concepts in Racial Equity Diversity & Inclusion (REDI), and exploring unconscious bias and other forms of bias in the workplace. The discussion will focus on key themes, including: intersectionality, systemic racism and discrimination in the workplace. The session will focus on practical steps for leading institutional change through REDI. At the end of the session, participants will better understand:

1. Employment equity ramifications for Indigenous, Black and other racialized people
2. Intersectionality and how it impacts belonging in the workplace
3. Power, privilege and workplace culture that inhibit accessibility for equity-deserving groups

Ruth Mojeed Ramirez
Founder & Chief Equity Officer @The Inclusion Project
Ruth Mojeed is the Founder & Chief Equity Officer of The Inclusion Project. She brings extensive lived experience and grounded expertise to her work in racial equity, diversity and inclusion (REDI). Her research and solutions design focus on an intersectional and inter-generational approach to address complex issues of racial equity, decolonization and gender equality. She leads organizational EDI strategy development, readiness assessment and coaching among multi-level stakeholders in public and private sectors, including finance, tech, non-profit, media, academia, among others. Ruth is indigenous to the Yoruba tribe from western Nigeria. She migrated to Canada in 2015 to pursue a master’s degree in intercultural & international communication at Royal Roads University. She also holds certificates in community organizing & leadership from Harvard University and community-based participatory research from the University of Victoria.
