Join this session to become familiar with the rapidly changing field of GH treatment, particularly with regard to the move to promoting patient adherence and improving quality of life through the use of long-acting GH molecules.
During this talk, we will:
1) Review the long-acting GH molecules currently being tested
2) Give an overview of the phase 3 trial results available for pediatric and adult patients with GH deficiency
3) Discuss issues of safety, tolerability and efficacy in regard to who to put on long-acting GH
4) Identify what patients could benefit the most from receiving long-acting GH

At National Children’s Hospital, she continued research on GH, GHBP, IGF-I, and as a postgraduate research fellow at University of Virginia, USA, she has worked on the molecular cloning and regulation of GHRH receptor. After returning to Japan, she has become Director of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, National Center for Child Health and Development. The fields of interests are growth, sex development and maturation. As a board member of APPES and JSPE, she has been working for children with endocrine disorders in Asian countries. Dr. Kevin Yuen (MBChB, MD, FRCP (UK), FACE ) Kevin Yuen is a Professor of Medicine at the Barrow Neurological Institute, Creighton School of Medicine. Dr. Yuen’s expertise includes clinical and research interests in the management of pituitary disorders. He has also published extensively, and is a frequent guest speaker on various topics related to pituitary disorders. He serves on the Pituitary Scientific Committee for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and is the Lead Author for the association’s writing committee for medical guidelines for management of adult growth hormone deficiency. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Growth Hormone and IGF Research, and is an Editorial Board member for several endocrine journals. Dr. Gudmundur Johannsson (Moderator) (MD, Professor ) Gudmundur Johannsson is a Professor of Endocrinology and Deputy Director, Institute of Medicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg and a Senior Consultant at the Department of Endocrinology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. Professor Johansson’s major research interests include pituitary diseases, the importance of growth hormone in adults and adrenal insufficiency. He is a board member and past-president of the Growth Hormone Research Society, and actively supports a number of journals: as Associate Editor of the European Journal of Endocrinology and serving on the Editorial Board of the Growth Hormone & IGF Research, Journal of Endocrine Society and J Endocrine Invest. Professor Johannsson has more than 250 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
