This presentation will provide an overview of nitrogen management focused on berry and vegetable crops, and nitrogen fertilizer use reporting currently required by the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board. Topics to be covered include the concepts of nitrogen (N) mineralization, nitrate leaching, N uptake, N removal, irrigation scheduling, Nitrogen Management Plan Worksheet, soil nitrate quick test, among others.
