How I Teach This Text: "1984"
Please join us for a series of workshops on what can be done to strengthen general education—as students move into STEM, business, health, and other pre-professional fields—to ensure that college students, whatever their major or background, encounter inspiring works of literature and philosophy and grasp the power of the humanities and its relevance to their professional aspirations.

This workshop features Swati Srivastava, assistant professor of political science at Purdue University, on how she teaches George Orwell's novel 1984 so it is accessible and engaging to first-year students and non-humanities majors.

Each workshop will run from 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST. Foundation staff will remain from 1:30-2:00 p.m. EST to answer questions about the Cornerstone: Learning for Living initiative co-sponsored by the Teagle Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities. This workshop is free and open to all faculty members.
