Session IV of the series Raising Voices - A Health Equity Webinar Series, focuses on how to make your organization competent and welcoming to transgender clients.
The term intersectionality is, for some, a difficult concept to understand. This webinar will explore intersectionality as it applies within the context of reducing disparities amongst Transgender people as they navigate the legal, mental, social, and health systems. When used mindfully, intersectionality recognizes the diversity of experiences of Transgender individuals and provides perspective for addressing their needs in a more equitable manner.
The session will challenge attendees to examine the intersectionality of clients and patients to best learn how to address their specific needs, pinpoint their unique challenges, and educate fellow service providers and partners on providing the needed services in a culturally competent manner. Presenters, Celeste Fiori, Esq. and Alexa Rodriguez, will also emphasize the importance and impact of Cultural Humility in the provision of services for Transgender clients. We encourage you to participate in this discussion and share the information with your colleagues.
