What is TMJ?
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a joint that connects your skull to your jaw, located just below and in front of your ears. Along with muscles and ligaments, the TMJ is what allows you to chew, swallow, speak, and yawn.

Millions of Americans and Canadians experience TMJ or jaw pain each year. In fact, it is the second most common area of pain behind back pain.

Symptoms can include:
-Jaw pain when chewing, biting, or yawning
-Jaw pain or soreness that is more prevalent in the morning or late afternoon
-Tenderness of the jaw or jaw muscles
-Difficulty opening and closing the mouth
-Clicking or popping noises when opening the mouth
-Crunching or grinding noises when chewing
-Pain in or around the ear
-Headaches and neck aches
