Noncedo Mviko
Director, Southern Africa Development Cooperation (SADC)—Trade Policy, Negotiation and Cooperation (TPNC) Branch @South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition
Ms Noncedo Mviko serves as Director, Southern Africa Development Cooperation (SADC) in the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition’s Trade Policy, Negotiation and Cooperation (TPNC) Branch, since 2016. Current responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of the SADC Protocol on Trade as well as coordination of the ongoing Tripartite Free Trade Area (TFTA) negotiations. Prior to assuming this position, she was the Director responsible for Southern Africa Bilateral relations, a role that included ensuring that South Africa had good trade relations with countries of Southern Africa, negotiation of bilateral trade cooperation agreements and resolution of impediments to trade. She has also served as the dtic’s Economic Representative to Ethiopia and the African Union through the South African Embassy in Addis Ababa between 2009 and 2013. Ms Mviko has been involved in the negotiations towards the SACU-Mercosur Trade Agreement, overseeing bilateral relations with countries
Devesh Dukhira
CEO @Mauritius Sugar Syndicate
Devesh Dukhira is the CEO of the Mauritius Sugar Syndicate (MSS), which is responsible for the sales of all sugars produced in Mauritius. This is a producer-driven organization, comprising both growers and millers as members, and its objective is the maximization of their sales revenue. With a first degree in Electronic Engineering from Bristol University in UK and a Masters’ Degree in Management from Boston University in the US, Devesh joined the MSS in 2001 and has been responsible for the marketing of its sugars until 2015 when he acceded to the post of CEO. Prior to that, he worked in an investment and trade promotion organization for a period of 9 years, both in Mauritius and in the UK.
Nick Kwolek
Founder @Kwolco
Kwolco is an agri-trade consultancy and research business that was started in Nairobi, Kenya by Nick Kwolek in 2018. In the summer of 2018, Nick decided to leave thecommodities trade after 13 years to set up his own business to cater to the medium-and large-scale commodities trade houses and agricultural producers in East Africa. The aim of Kwolco is to provide high quality trade-focused commodities research for theEastern African region. Kwolco focuses on the majority of the large agricultural products produced and traded in Eastern Africa and takes a truly trade-focused approach that can be used by both producers and traders alike who want a more in-depth view into East African agriculture, and the trade surrounding it.
