In addition to his considerable experience in the global satellite industry, Stéphane is a recognized expert in the Middle East and Africa. He is a frequent speaker and moderator at industry conferences worldwide. Stéphane is the former editor of the “Satellite Communications & Broadcasting Markets Survey” report and holds a Masters in Technology & Innovation Management.
Albie Bester
Market Development Manager @INTELSAT
Albie Bester is the Market Development Manager for Intelsat Networks business unit. He joined the company in November 2016. Albie has been actively involved in the ICT market for the past 30 years, serving in a variety of technical and business strategy roles. His work experience includes strategy consulting, Cloud business development and executive management with companies such as, Microsoft, PwC and SEACOM. In his current role Albie is responsibility is to reach beyond the traditional satellite industry and the broader communications landscape and expand the market for Intelsat Networks BU Connectivity Managed Services through the active participation in industry verticals and ecosystems along with the development of solutions with industry partners.
Karl Horne
VP of Cloud Solutions @SES
As VP of Cloud Solutions for SES Networks, Karl Horne is responsible for technology and business strategies for satellite enabled cloud services and partnerships. In this capacity, Mr. Horne works with service providers, technologists, industry analysts, and key partners to define SES’ solutions in support of the industry shift towards cloud services and architectures, including Enterprise IT/OT Transformation, 5G Mobility, and IoT. Mr. Horne has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to his current position in SES Networks, he has held various Engineering, CTO, and Business Development roles for Ciena Corporation, Scientific Atlanta, and AT&T Tridom. Mr. Horne holds a BSEE from Clemson University.
Stuart Daughtridge
Vice President of Advanced Technology @Kratos
Mr. Daughtridge has extensive experience in the satellite and aerospace industry spanning over 30 years. In his current position, he leads Kratos’ satellite ground segment technology initiatives including the planning for the next generation of ground segment technology. In this role, Mr. Daughtridge is focused on today’s innovative and advanced technologies that will enable the ground station to become more dynamic, scalable, secure and cost-effective for customers. Prior to his current role at Kratos, he has held several senior management positions within the company. Mr. Daughtridge has also held various management and engineering positions with Orion Satellite Corporation, Intelsat, and Spacecom. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Lafayette College.
Sean Yarborough
Vice President, Product Management @ST Engineering iDirect
Sean oversees the strategies for iDirect’s platform portfolio which includes managing the entire lifecycle from conception to end of life. Prior to joining ST Engineering iDirect, Sean was a Vice President of Service Assurance, with Spirent Communications, managing a portfolio of mature and new service assurance solutions for voice, video, and data services in the telecommunications and enterprise markets. These solutions ranged from traditional hardware appliances to SaaS based solutions. There, he advised leading service providers around the world on best practices. With over 25 years of experience in the IT, mobile, telecom, and satellite markets, Sean offers a unique blend of knowledge and cross-functional experience to educate the global community on the importance of satellite technology. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering (University of Virginia) and an MBA (University of Maryland - College Park).
