Many times the thing that stands between you and successful weight loss is struggling with managing your hunger. When you feel hungry all the time, it can weaken your resolve and lead to cheat meals that turn into all-weekend binges. One thing that you need to address is whether your hunger is true physical hunger or emotional hunger. A quick test to help you differentiate between the two is the HALT test. When hungry, think HALT
Ask yourself if you are: Hungry? Angry? Lonely? Tired? If your hunger is emotional, find an activity other than eating to manage your emotions Physical hunger is usually felt from the neck down, such as a growling stomach. Emotional hunger is more about thoughts about food or seeking food for soothing and is not usually accompanied by physical hunger cues.
