Jim’s investment philosophy is underpinned by analysis of new industries or market shifts. This includes the financial crisis of 2008-2009, as foreseen in his first co-authored book, Wake Up!, and in the book Juvenescence, focused on the nascent field of ageing research, which led to the formation of the company Juvenescence, a leading biopharma company in the commercialisation of anti-ageing therapies. Recently he authored Moo’s Law, focussed on investment opportunities in alternative proteins and co-founded Agronomics, a leading investor in the sector. Jim sits on the Board of Trustees of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, and of the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR). He is a trustee of Biogerontology Research Foundation and is an Honorary Fellow of Oriel College, University of Oxford, and he sits on the Advisory Board of the Milken Institute’s Centre for the Future of Aging. Professor Mark Post (Chief Science Officer @Mosa Meat) Mark is most known for the development of the world’s first hamburger from cultured beef, which was presented in London in August 2013. Professor Post, the Head of the Cultured Beef program at Maastricht University, is a medical doctor who has had several appointments at Harvard University, Utrecht University, Dartmouth College, and Eindhoven University of Technology. He currently holds the Chair of the Physiology Department at Maastricht University. His main research interest is the engineering of tissues for medical applications and for food. Mark is now the leading scientist at the cultivated meat company Mosa Meat, as Chief Scientific Officer. Mosa Meat has raised US$ 86 million in funding from investors in the field including Blue Horizon Ventures, Bell Food Group and M Ventures. Lou Cooperhouse (President & CEO @BlueNalu, Inc.) Lou is co-founder, President & CEO of BlueNalu, with a mission to become the global leader in providing great tasting, cell-based seafood products that are healthy for people, humane for sea life, and sustainable. As a result, BlueNalu is able to support a more stable and secure global supply chain of seafood, and help to preserve the health, sustainability, and biodiversity of our oceans. Lou is recognised as a leading global authority in food business innovation and technology commercialisation, with extensive leadership experiences throughout his 35-year career in the food industry. Lou served as President of Food Spectrum, LLC, and as Executive Director of the Rutgers University Food Innovation Center. Lou also served as President & COO of F&S Produce, and as co-Founder, President and CEO of MenuDirect Corporation. Lou received his MS in Food Science and BS in Microbiology, both from Rutgers University, and has served as an Adjunct Professor at the Rutgers Business School.
