DEI Success: From making a great hire, to serving a wider audience

The financial services industry has made progress in attracting a diverse field force as well as in serving a diverse population. What has worked and what are the next steps? Our panelists will provide their unique insights.
Toni Gonzales, MBA, LACP, is vice president, Ohio National, and is vice president of Women in Insurance and Financial Services. She is a DEI advocate and speaks on diversity issues to many industry groups. Toni will discuss:
-Why the industry needs to bring in more female professionals.
- The financial power of women and why advisors must pay attention if they want to serve this market segment that is growing in terms of numbers and in wealth.
Kristen Hall Eskew is an impact speaker and cultural transformation leader, who also has made presentations to many industry groups. Kristen believes that there’s more to DEI than D, E and I – there’s also a B and that stands for Belonging. She will discuss what she is seeing in the industry, with an emphasis on:
- What companies must do AFTER a candidate is hired.
- The importance of a company having sufficient infrastructure and mentorship to help candidates succeed.
- How allyship must be part of a company culture if it is to be successful in its DEI efforts.
