Frequently cited by major national and international news organizations and appearing on national television broadcasts, he has authored a variety of articles and serves as an information source and spokesperson for the restaurant and hospitality industry. Steve Scranton, CFA (Chief Investment Officer & Economist @Washington Trust Bank) In Steve’s role as the economist for Washington Trust Bank he participates in public speaking engagements, as well as authoring multiple communications, to keep clients and the public informed of economic and investment market conditions. Throughout the Pacific Northwest, Steve is a well-known speaker on economic conditions and world financial markets Emmy Hise (Senior Director of Hospitality Analytics @CoStar) Emmy has over 15 years of experience in the lodging sector. Ms. Hise spent the first few years of her career working in operations. From there, she transitioned to hotel real estate roles for nearly eight years. She worked for CBRE Hotels and then moved to the acquisition and management contract side for a hotel management company. She focused on numerous analytic lodging and real estate projects, including market studies, due diligence, single asset and portfolio transactions, valuations, underwriting, and amenity and facility offerings analysis. Anthony Anton (President & CEO @Washington Hospitality Association) Anthony Anton is President and CEO of the Washington Hospitality Association. He has been with the association for more than 20 years, and draws on experience being raised in a family with more than 70 years of hospitality experience in the state. As CEO, Anthony has helped the Washington Hospitality Association expand, launched initiatives to help our workforce succeed, and has focused on protecting and enhancing the hospitality business climate. He also lead the industry association through the pandemic — a time in which hospitality was hit the hardest of any industry by far. The team at the association educated, facilitated, and/or secured hundreds of millions in relief dollars for Washington Hospitality businesses and dozens of regulatory relief measures reducing the number of closures in the second six months of the pandemic by nearly 400% compared to the first six months.
