School Garden Design

Believe it or not, now is the time to start planning your garden! School gardens are unique spaces for many reasons. Their season typically runs from September through May, with summer often being the time when the space is least utilized. Many school gardens operate with limited space and funding, and every school community has its own strengths, needs, and goals. This presentation will offer both plant and hardscape considerations for building a productive, inclusive, and safe garden space well suited to your students, school community, and learning goals. We will also cover Seed St. Louis resources and the ways in which we can support your school garden throughout the year.
