"Backyard Forestry in 90 Minutes" is a free educational program series sponsored by NJ Forestry Association, State Forestry Services & Rutgers Cooperative Extension. The program, now online, takes place on the THIRD Thursday of every month from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

Debra Italiano
Founder & Chair @Sustainable Jersey City
Debra Italiano is the President and a member of the Board of Directors for Sustainable Jersey City (SJC), an education non-profit established in 2011 focused on sustainable community, resiliency and climate action planning. Debra is Managing Principal of Merintra Co., LLC, a strategic business and market development consulting firm based in Jersey City. She works with green economy clients to build their business and brand equity through sustainability measures and through hi-impact collaborative enterprise initiatives that benefit community stakeholders. Prior to founding Merintra Co., LLC in 2003, she spent 15 years on Wall Street leading large scale change initiatives related to governance and strategy alignment for both Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase. She received her BS from Pace University in New York City.
Tom Zinckgraf
Board Member @Sustainable Jersey City
Tom Zinckgraf is a software developer with extensive experience building data systems for the financial services industry. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & a Master’s degree in Stochastic Systems and Optimization. He has a passion for the sustainability field, primarily in renewable energy. As SJC Board Member & Tech Lead, he spends most of time on the technology front. He manages everything from open source projects to general tech support for the organization. He continues to enhance the SJC OpenTreeMap & push SJC technology forward to enable programming for SJC’s portfolio of educational advocacy & outreach initiatives which include both community facing projects & internal capacity building to streamline & enhance program delivery. He hopes to use his energy & expertise to help the citizen science movement in Jersey City through a combination of technology & education for a Green Civics Tech initiative.
