"When The Going Gets Tough - The Tough Sit Down” Soothing and Repair in the Frazzled Parent with Mary-Joy Johnson
Compassion Fatigue, Burnout, Secondary Trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD are terms you may have heard of.

When in a chronic high stress, caring, parenting and advocacy role all of these are possible…...not inevitable, but certainly possible.

Reaching the threshold for stress is different for everyone. Some have huge capacity to tolerate the ongoing demands of parenting children and young people with challenging and traumatic backgrounds, others - not so much.

It’s not a competition and there is no moral failing should you find yourself at the edge (or over it).

There are fantastic resources available online to learn about what is happening in your brain and nervous system when chronically stressed. Understanding how you reached this point and what is going on for you psychologically, physiologically and emotionally is important.

This webinar is about what to do.

Radical self care is an individual, subtle and attuned process that seeks to soothe, repair and restore (psychologically, physiologically and emotionally) the ‘caregiving system’ around the child. We will discuss the myths of ‘coping and/or failing’, what individual family ‘success’ and wellness might really look like and how to begin walking in that direction.

Please note that the name you register with for each event will be visible to all other participants, so if you don't want your full name shown please register using a pseudonym.
