Asude will talk about the “double-winged” approach in education. She learned about this idea at YGA, an NGO in Turkey, where she worked voluntarily and where her company was founded. They believe children need to be double-winged, competent, and compassionate to make a positive impact by using their minds and hearts together. Just as birds cannot fly with one wing, the world cannot develop with one wing. Asude is currently part of the team that develops science products with this philosophy, working to promote science and bring the latest technology and science to emerging talent and the next generation of young leaders and the most disadvantaged children at the margins of our society.
Co-Founder and CEO of Ed-Tech startup Twin Science & Robotics, Asude Altintas is aspiring to deliver holistic and humanitarian-centered STEM education to children worldwide. After attending Stanford’s Social Entrepreneurship Program, Asude started her career at one of Turkey’s leading NGOs, YGA, initiating several high-impact social initiative projects. She was invited to speak at the United Nations to present YGA’s technology-based solutions as best practice examples worldwide. During her 5-year tenure as president, Asude guided YGA through several successful projects earning the NGO several awards, including MIT Innovators Under 35, Forbes (2x), and GSMA (2x). Asude led and hosted a successful TV program for children on CNNTurk to increase interest in STEM fields. She co-founded Twin and is now a growing figure in the Ed-Tech sector and advocate for STEM education, especially for girls in underserved communities.
