Paving the way for decarbonised Industry with Carbon Capture and Storage
Join us for a high-level webinar on the potential of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) within Europe and how its application can contribute to the European net-zero emission goal by 2050.

Co-hosted by Fortum Oslo Varme, Bellona, Zero Emissions Platform and the City of Oslo, this event will discuss how CCS can be a solution for EU member states to decarbonise their industry and hard-to-abate sectors.

The European Commission recently proposed, as part of the Fit for 55 Package, a stricter emission reduction target for industries and hard-to-abate sectors. Therefore, new measures to reduce emissions are needed to meet these more ambitious targets: Installing CCS on industrial plants can, for example, significantly reduce their emissions and allow them to achieve net zero emissions or even go carbon negative.

Our high-level panel will unite policy makers, Industrials and Civil Society actors to discuss the national differences in advancing the decarbonisation of the hard-to-abate sectors and the potential of CCS to this end, with:

• Amund Vik, recently appointed new State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy
• Vegar Andersen, Deputy Vice Mayor for Business Development and Public Ownership of the City of Oslo
• Liv Monica Stubholt, Chair of the Board of Fortum Oslo Varme
• Winston Beck, Director EU Government Affairs at HeidelbergCement
• Ana Serdoner, Policy Manager at Bellona Europe

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Graeme Sweeney, Chairman of the Zero Emissions Platform.
