INTERNATIONAL DIMENSIONS OF THE EU SEED MARKETING REFORM : SEEING BEYOND THE REGULATION OF THE EU COMMON MARKET

This workshop, organised by Brot für die Welt (Bread for the World) & HEKS, aims to discuss the international dimensions of the future EU seeds marketing reform, building on a concrete case of seed policy advocacy from the African Continent. Considering existing obligations in the EU Treaties of policy coherence for development (PCD), and the rights recognized by the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Peasants and People Living in Rural Areas (UNDROP), it seeks to lift up the likely external effects of the EU seed marketing reform, looking beyond the common argument that these rules only regulate the EU common market.
