Brett A. Hurt is the CEO and Co-founder of data.world, the enterprise data catalog for the modern data stack. data.world is a Certified B Corporation® and public benefit corporation and home to the world’s largest collaborative open data community with more than 1.6 million members, including 90% of the Fortune 500. Brett co-founded and led Bazaarvoice as CEO, through its IPO, follow-on offering, and two acquisitions, as well as Coremetrics, which was acquired by IBM in 2010 for around $300 million. In 2017, Brett was given the Best CEO Legacy Award by the Austin Business Journal. Hurt is featured in the latest issue of McCombs Magazine and released his newest book, The Entrepreneur's Essentials, with proceeds going to The University of Texas at Austin’s Kendra Scott Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute (KS WELI). Lillian Mills joined the McCombs School of Business in 2006, and during the past 15 years, she has been a top-ranked researcher and a nationally renowned and award-winning classroom educator. In 2019, Dean Mills was the first recipient of the McCombs Undergraduate Amplify Award, a student-managed award designed to recognize faculty members who foster highly inclusive classrooms and improve learning outcomes. From 2011 to 2015, she served as chair of the Accounting Department, and since 2014, she has held the Beverly H. and William P. O’Hara Chair in Business.
