As the world enters the third decade of the 21st century, it is estimated that Generation Z -
those born just before or since the turn of the millennium - will overtake Millennials as the largest demographic group in the world. Together they will make up almost two-thirds of the global population. They come of age at a pivotal moment.
The next ten years will require great changes in how we do business to tackle the economic, environmental, political and social challenges faced by people and planet. We call this the Purpose Decade.
Existing social, economic and environmental challenges have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis and continued unrest over racial, gender and intergenerational inequalities. At the same time, a new generation is making its voice heard as activists, citizens, consumers and employees, questioning the assumptions and practices of those currently holding power.
