Christopher Sebastian "Fact Checking Animal Rights Media"
Has anyone ever seen the headline "Lettuce is 'three times worse than bacon' for emissions" or some other sensationalist headline? In a media environment where phrases like Fake News have become normalized, it's important for activists to be able to distinguish good sources from bad. This interactive presentation covers some of the basics for animal rights activists and allies to understanding how to be responsible media consumers, how to evaluate sources, and how to keep your head when social media would encourage us to use it.

Christopher Sebastian is a researcher and technical writer. He uses media theory, political science, and psychology to take a multi-disciplinary approach to helping people understand animal liberation.
