Funding Opportunities for HSIs at National Science Foundation
• Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI Program). Program goals include enhancing the quality of undergraduate STEM education and increasing the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of students pursuing associates or baccalaureate degrees in STEM fields at HSIs. The program offers three tracks: Track 1 - two year projects with funding ranging from $100,000 to $300,000; Track 2 – three to five year projects with funding ranging from $200,000 to $800,000; Track 3 – five year projects with funding up to $3,000,000.
• Organizational Change for Gender Equity in STEM Academic Professions (Advance): The NSF’s ADVANCE program goal is to broaden the implementation of evidence-based systemic change strategies that promote equity for STEM faculty in academic workplaces and the academic profession. The NSF ADVANCE program provides grants to enhance the systemic factors that support equity and inclusion and to mitigate the systemic factors that create inequities in the academic profession and workplaces.
• Racial Equity in STEM Education supports bold, groundbreaking, and potentially transformative projects addressing systemic racism in STEM.
