Rebuilding the Santiam Canyon
We are just beginning to understand the impact this summer’s wildfires had on families, neighborhoods, and cities up and down the Santiam Canyon. The damage has been significant, but so has been the generous response from people all over Oregon.
Almost immediately after the first reports from the Canyon, a group of community members sprang into action to form the Santiam Canyon Wildfire Relief Fund. Thus far, the fund has raised over $2 million to help families and communities sustain themselves and eventually rebuild.
At the same time, a group of builders, contractors, developers, and others formed the Santiam Rebuild Coalition. This group of over 90 businesses and individuals have already begun planning on several projects and are pooling other resources to give families access to the best and most trusted contractors in the area.
For our November webinar we will host some central players in the Relief Fund and the Santiam Rebuild Coalition to share about the groups’ missions, how their resources are getting to those who need it most, and how you can contribute.
