Humanities Guåhan is pleased to announce its Virtual Family Story Hour: Cultivating Literacy in Micronesia. From the comfort of home, families will engage in literacy activities that promote reading and cultural understanding to encourage life-long learning.
A different children’s book will be featured each week. No books or materials are necessary to participate. All reading levels are welcome!
What to expect:
You can expect to listen to a reading of a children’s book and participate in casual group discussion about the book. You will learn about interactive activities that are tied to the topics or themes in the book. If children are present, they will have the chance to participate in these activities during the session. You can expect respectful interaction among diverse families and community members.
This project is supported by a grant from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, along with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), The Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency, Government of Guam, and the Office of the Governor.
