Critical Issues in Universal Design for Learning
As we enter another decade of UDL research and implementation, it is important to reflect on the progress made and focus on the critical issues that still exist. This upcoming Network and Learn will bring the editor of the recent book Critical Issues in Universal Design for Learning, Alisa Lowrey, and the authors of specific chapters to discuss where UDL stands in terms of research that guides implementation and the challenges that must be confronted by all stakeholders involved in the educational process, including policymakers, administrators, professional development providers, parents, teachers and preparation programs, instructional designers, and researchers, if the potential of UDL is to be fully realized. This Network and Learn is appropriate for a broad audience and we invite anyone interested in learning more about UDL and the future of UDL research and practice to join us. Participants can expect to have the opportunity to interact with the UDL-IRN Professional Learning Committee and the participants who will join us to discuss their contributions to Critical Issues in Universal Design for Learning.
