Over the past decade, there have been many historic “firsts” to celebrate in the realm of women in politics. Like Kamala Harris at the federal level, New Jersey also boasts its first African-American woman in the 2nd highest executive office. Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver will be joining us, along with Secretary of State Tahesha Way and Civil Services Commission Chair Deirdre Webster Cobb to discuss their experiences as trailblazing African American women in the legal and political realm. Hosting the conversation is Kennedi Avent, a high school junior in the Girls Leadership Council and the NAACP Camden County East Youth Council. Join us as these women share stories about their own journeys, and their thoughts and insights on the future of politics and representation.
