First Amendment Auditors
You may already know that preparing for an audit is meticulous work, but what about unannounced and unofficial “audits?” A growing number of citizen activists practicing “First Amendment” audits by filming courthouse and government employees are happening in Indiana. These videos often appear on YouTube with recorded subjects demeaned by the video commentary, viewer comments, or accompanying theatrical music.

In this two hour webinar, you will learn how to manage these encounters with a deeper understanding of the legal boundaries of first amendment rights, freedom of the press background, employee rights, and skillful communication. You will apprehend de-escalation techniques to defuse conflicts and dodge potential provocation from fringe activists. Prepare yourself for these unexpected recordings by learning to be so boring (professional and knowledgeable) the footage either never gets published or gets ignored.
