Description
Many students use AI to write and proofread their texts. Think of the grammar check in Google Docs, the language feedback of Writefull, and the responses of ChatGPT. But what are the best ways for students to use AI in their writing? And how can teachers ensure that students are not abusing AI to plagiarize?
This webinar starts with an introduction to the current landscape of AI in academic writing; what AI tools are out there, how they can help, and how they impact students’ academic writing process. We will then take a closer look at ChatGPT and Writefull, and discuss the strengths and pitfalls of each.
As part of this webinar, we will demo two new tools of Writefull: TexGPT, a widget that combines ChatGPT and Writefull’s AI to help the writing process, and the GPT Detector, a tool to assess if a text has been written with GPT’s AI.
This webinar is relevant for both students and teachers. Students will learn how they can use AI to write and proofread, while teachers will gain insights into the workings of AI for academic writing, what risks to be aware of, and how to evaluate if students have plagiarized using AI.
At the end of the webinar, there will be room for Q&As.
