Author's Corner: Kay Adams

The National Association for Poetry Therapy’s Author’s Corner hosts a wide array of writers and poets who will share their latest and favorite works and collections. In addition to a delightful evening of readings, interviews, and discussions, participants will be treated to a writing prompt inspired by the featured author’s works. We are thrilled to be able to bring to you Kay Adams this month on Sunday, January 17 at 4:00ET.

Kathleen (Kay) Adams LPC, PTR is a psychotherapist and registered poetry/journal therapist based in Denver. In 1988 she founded the Center for Journal Therapy, now a global enterprise that teaches the healing art and science of journal writing to all who desire self-directed change. Kay has been a member of NAPT since 1992 and is past-president of NAPT, the Federation, and the former NAPT Foundation. As a mentor/supervisor, she graduated more than 25 CAPFs, CPTs and PTRs before returning full-time focus in 2008 to journal therapy training through her fully online Therapeutic Writing Institute. She now hosts graduates of journal and poetry therapy training as faculty at Journalversity, her personal growth expressive writing online school. Kay's latest book, Journal Therapy for Calming Anxiety, was released in June 2020.
