Proposed coal mines in the Eastern Slopes have raised concerns amongst many Albertans—you may be one of them.
The Eastern Slopes are a critical part of the Yellowstone to Yukon vision. This region contains the richest biodiversity in the province, houses watersheds that supply drinking water to millions, and supports local ranching and recreation economies. And, from a Y2Y large-landscape perspective, it is so much more!
Although the Alberta Government reinstated the 1976 Coal Policy, there is still much work to do to ensure the ecological value of these landscapes is safeguarded.
As someone who is deeply connected to the landscape and cares about nature, your presence would be welcome.
