Accounting for OA Across Vulnerability and Risk Assessments
While we need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, the number one cause of ocean acidification, there are actions that governments and non-government partners can be taking now that will help to inform and prioritize local actions that address local change and reduce vulnerabilities.

By accounting for impacts of increasing acidification and cumulative climate- ocean impacts, governments can more accurately assess the economic, cultural and social vulnerabilities directly caused by CO2 emissions and strategize actions that support food security and sovereignty, increase resilience of marine ecosystems and build a sustainable ocean economy in the face of future change.

This 90 minute webinar will provide a snapshot of OA vulnerability and risks assessments that have already been conducted in the Pacific Islands Region and British Columbia, Canada and highlight strategies, methodologies and lessons learned.
