Leora Ruzin, CMB is Director of Real Estate Lending at Valley First Credit Union and Managing Editor of Mortgage Women Magazine. She has been in mortgage lending for 13 years, and holds the designation of “Certified Mortgage Banker” from the Mortgage Bankers Association. Leora is an advocate for common-sense mortgage lending practices and is passionate about advances in first-time homebuyer and low-to-moderate income lending programs. Leora is the winner of numerous industry awards, and is often sought after as a speaker for conferences. Leora holds an Associate’s degree in Accounting, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and is a veteran of the United States Army. She lives in Modesto, CA with her husband and daughter.
Michael Simmons
Principal and founding Director @AXIS Appraisal Management
Michael Simmons is a Principal and founding Director of AXIS Appraisal Management Solutions, a National AMC. His 40 years’ experience in the real estate industry, and as a mortgage broker and veteran mortgage banker gives him a unique lens into helping shape AXIS’ critical commitment to creating a relationship-based and service-oriented appraisal services organization. As Director and Co-President of AXIS, he’s responsible for helping drive AXIS’ strategic direction and in leading their sales initiatives. Michael is tasked with leading the development of the firm’s business relationships, attending state and national MBA conferences, NAMB & CAMP events, CRN and myriad other appraisal conferences. He currently represents AXIS through the Appraisal Institute, AARO, REVAA, The Appraisal Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors for CAMP’s San Francisco and Peninsula Chapter.
