The Last Lash
The fight to end corporal punishment in Mississippi & the other 18 states where it is still legal is a fight for human rights, children's rights, dignity, respect & change. Whether it’s in schools, the workforce, or the prison systems, punishment is more readily and harshly given to people of color; especially on the bodies of Black boys and girls. This is the Legacy of the Lash. From being used as a tool of domination & control on the plantation to being able to be used as a tool of correction in our schools, from whips, to paddles to policies. We’ve taken the last lash.

The MS Coalition to End Corporal Punishment has laid the groundwork but we need you to join us in fighting to end corporal punishment and implement effective alternatives. Join our upcoming session where we will take a look back, examine where we are & take action to move forward.

We’ll be joined by Janice Harper, Kameisha Smith & members of the MS Coalition to End Corporal Punishment.
