Just last week, the Supreme Court started hearing a case to decide the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act which expanded health care to millions in the US. As part of the NJ Immigrant Rights Summit, today’s panel on Health Care for All will discuss how we protect ACA in New Jersey and expand coverage to include all residents regardless of where they were born.
Access to health care is a basic human right yet immigrants and communities of color continue to be left out of access due to status, income level and history of institutional marginalization. In New Jersey a powerful movement of advocates and organizers are working together to ensure access to health care for all.
We will hear from advocates from New Jersey Citizen Action, CATA - Migrant Farmworkers Committee, American Friends Service Committee, and Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers to discuss the path forward for healthcare for all in New Jersey.
