The Waste Busters Zero Waste Facilitation Program has successfully removed contamination charges and diverted as much material as possible for clients in the City of San Francisco for the past two years. In compliance with City Ordinance 300-18, Waste Busters operates with a wide variety of commercial waste generators to reach San Francisco's ambitious contamination threshold. Using a combination of communication techniques, waste sorting experience, and a robust system for recording and tracking waste generation and contamination, Waste Busters will provide attendees with an overview of a simple and effective program to reduce contamination in large refuse generating environments.
- Waste Busters staff utilize a unique set of communication skills, encompassing waste management and materials processing, as well as addressing the environmental reasons for such ordinances to clients. Waste Busters will share experiences with removing contamination at complex large refuse generating situations, such as music festivals, large shopping malls, and street fairs.
- Finally, we will detail and demo a robust and modular program developed individually for each client to monitor and track waste generation and contamination within their buildings. This live-updated and analytical record keeping database provides clients with a way to monitor specific waste contaminators and other common waste contaminants. This live-updated database platform can also be applied to events and other venues where there is a large tenant/client database.
- Waste Busters will provide attendees of this session with techniques used to address contamination across a variety of large-refuse generating systems.
