John Hughes, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, Emeritus (Active) @The Ohio State University
Dr. Hughes was a faculty member at The Ohio State University for 42 years teaching undergraduate, graduate, and medical students medical microbiology, infectious diseases and public health. He was also the Associate Director of the Children’s Medical Center Viral Diagnostic Laboratory at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for 13 years. Following his retirement in 2014, Dr. Hughes was appointed Associate Professor Emeritus of the Department of Cancer Biology and Genetics, College of Medicine at The Ohio State University, an active position he continues to serve in today. For over five continuous decades Dr. Hughes has published peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts as either a senior or corresponding author. As a board member on the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) for over 30 years, Dr. Hughes has been heavily involved with the certification and establishment of certification standards for clinical laboratory directors, consultants and supervisors.
