Emergency General Surgery: COVID Challenges and Solutions
Emergency General Surgery (EGS) changed dramatically in preparation for the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to do so as it progresses.

RCSEd has partnered with ASGBI to deliver a webinar which will look at what impact this has had on common conditions, outcomes, the use of laparoscopy and on patient and staff safety. We'll also discuss what changes we can keep for the future and what can be done better if there's a second wave.

Our panel includes:
- Professor Iain Anderson FRCS FRCS Ed. Consultant General Surgeon at the Salford Royal Hospital. He is President of ASGBI and involved in several aspects of the surgical response to the pandemic and recovery.
- Ms Cleo Kenington FRCS. Consultant Emergency & Upper GI Surgery, St George's Hospital, London. She is London Representative for the ASGBI and lead for Sustainability. Cleo is on the committee of the National Forum of Acute Surgery. She is Editor of Royal College of Surgeons of England Bulletin of Emergency General Surgery.
- Mr Christian Macutkiewicz FRCS. Consultant General, Hepato-pancreato-biliary & Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon, Manchester Royal Infirmary
- Ms Clare McNaught FRCS Ed. Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon. She was elected to RCSEd Council in 2014 and was Regional Advisor for Yorkshire for three years. Clare is a College examiner, is on a number of College committees and was Chair of the Younger Fellows' Committee. She is Editor of Surgeons' News.

Get involved and send in your questions ahead of the webinar to covid19comms@rcsed.ac.uk, we will do our best to answer them.
