Emma Simmons, MD, MPH
Senior Associate Dean, Admissions, Student Affairs, and Financial Aid @UC Riverside School of Medicine
Emma Simmons, M.D., M.P.H., is a health sciences clinical professor, senior associate dean of student affairs, and the Salma Haider Endowed Chair for the Thomas Haider Program a the UC Riverside School of Medicine. In addition, she practices medicine at the Access Clinic at Riverside University Health System - Medical Center. As senior associate dean, Simmons provides leadership for the medical school's initiatives in student recruitment, admissions, financial aid, academic enrichment, pathway programs, student well-being and career counseling. Simmons came to UC Riverside in 2011 from the Albert Medical School at Brown University, where she has been assistant dean for minority medical affairs and an assistant professor in the department of family medicine. She also served as the assistant director of health disparities research at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where she was also a staff physician. After earning her B.S. in chemistry from Tougaloo College, she went
