Join DORA on Wednesday, March 24 for a webinar on how aligning research assessment with academic culture enables groups to overcome obstacles to change.
■ Malvika Sharan, The Turing Way Project, The Alan Turing Institute
■ Noémie Aubert Bonn, Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences, Hasselt University
■ Laura Rovelli, Latin America Forum for Research Assessment, CLACSO
The panel will be moderated by Helen Sitar, DORA Community Coordinator and EMBO’s Science Policy Officer.
Panelists will share experiences in working with communities in Latin America, Europe and beyond who are seeking to overcome assessment challenges which currently undermine academic culture and scientific progress. The panel will discuss indicators of success which set perverse career incentives, and alternative practices which foster open, collaborative research cultures. Participants will learn about how researchers can be recognized for all of their contributions, and how individuals can engage with initiatives which are currently building momentum for lasting change. This community call is free to attend and open to everyone interested in improving research assessment.
