First Tuesdays: Helping Patrons Connect at Home with the Affordable Connectivity Program
The American Library Association calls affordable broadband access “critical” to the modern library, and says libraries have a role in spurring patron internet access at home. Your library can help qualifying patrons better afford home internet, through the federal Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides home internet service discounts and up to $100 for a device. More than a million Washington households might be eligible for this program, according to the White House, but less than a quarter of that number are enrolled so far. This webinar will provide an overview of the ACP program and its application, as well as tips about how your library can get the word out and help households sign up.
