In this webinar, the Structural Competency framework and key concepts will be introduced, including structural violence and racism, implicit frameworks, and structural interventions. This webinar aims to provide you with the ability to discern how structures impact the health of your patients and communities. Essentially, structural competency provides a broader analysis of health disparities by looking at the political, economic, and social structures which impact the health of communities, and make certain groups more vulnerable to "harm."
The webinar is intended for all health center staff, but it could be helpful for those who work directly with patients and communities. When health center staff are trained in structural competency, this can (1) improve the work experience of health center staff; (2) improve patient health outcomes; and (3) empower health center staff to work to advance change.
