Abortion Rights: What happened in 2022?

On June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court in Dobbs v. Jackson overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the constitutional right to abortion. In the wake of this decision, states across the country reacted. Some enacted (and tried to enact) severe curtailments on women's reproductive health. Others sought to expand reproductive health options and provide refuge for pregnant people from non-access states. Overall, 2022 was a year of upheaval and uncertainty in the abortion rights arena.

In this webinar, Legal Voice's Kim Clark and Wendy Heipt will provide an overview of the Dobbs decision, the wave of litigation and legislation that happened in its wake, and provide suggestions about what's to come. Kim Clark is Legal Voice's Legal Director and coordinated our amicus brief in the Dobbs case. Wendy Heipt is Legal Voice's Senior Reproductive Legal Counsel and currently works on reproductive justice throughout the Pacific Northwest.
