Cancer is an incredibly complex disease, and one that touches the lives of many: patients as well as their families, friends and caregivers. But UAlberta research, in partnership with funding partner, Cure Cancer Foundation, is making a difference.
Upon discovery of a new compound that could selectively kill cancer cells, cell biologist Luc Berthiaume recruited medical oncologist John Mackey to his team. Together they are developing an exciting new cancer drug with the potential to become a new standard of care and give cancer patients more time with their loved ones. Hear from Mackey an update on the clinical development status of this drug as it moves to human trials.
Plus, learn how 40 men and women plan to play a really, really long game of hockey — outdoors, in Alberta — to support this research.
