After the tremendous success of the Empire Station Coalition’s first and second public forums (“Why Gov. Cuomo’s Empire Station Complex Must Be Stopped Including Introductions to Better and Viable Alternatives”), we are very pleased to announce that the next two forums in this continuing series are scheduled for 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET on September 28th and October 4th.
September 28th: The need for an appropriate above-ground, world class train station at Penn Station: Why Madison Square Garden should move for the fifth time in its history and be replaced with a building on a par with Grand Central Terminal, Union Station in Washington D.C. or the Original Penn Station. Speakers will include Lynn Ellsworth, Richard Cameron, Sam Turvey. Moderated by Kirsten Theodos.
October 4th: The anti-urban madness of the proposed Empire Station Complex: The continuation of a monoculture of office towers from river to river versus a dynamic, diverse growth plan for the city and region which catapults us into the second half of the 21st Century as a world leader by embracing the best of old and new. Speakers will include Lynn Ellsworth, Simeon Bankoff, Brad Vogel, John Massengale, John Mudd. Moderated by Kirsten Theodos.
