METRO Orange Line Updates

The METRO Orange Line will begin new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service along the I-35W corridor from Burnsville to Minneapolis in late 2021. The Orange Line will bring frequent, all-day service between Burnsville, Bloomington, Richfield and south Minneapolis, replacing current bus routes 535 and 597.

To bring an update to employers and commuters, Metro Transit Senior Planner John Dillery and Outreach Coordinator Juan Rangel will give a presentation on the METRO Orange Line connecting bus plan on Thursday, Feb. 11, 1-2 p.m.

Dillery and Rangel will review the project’s Concept Plan, which includes proposed changes to existing bus routes aimed at improving connections in the Orange Line service area. These changes will affect several bus routes in Richfield, Bloomington and Edina, including routes 515, 535, 537, 538, 539, 540, 542, 553 and 597.

Metro Transit will accept comment on the Concept Plan through Monday, Feb. 22.
