The production of palm oil is frequently associated with deforestation. However, recent trends show remarkable changes in this image. Recently experts have pointed out that deforestation for palm oil is even on a 20 year low, despite the current high prices!
How can these trends be explained? And are they forecasted to stay, noting the recent price developments of palm oil.

This SPOC webinar investigates the current trends and the role of palm oil in Deforestation in Indonesia and Malaysia with Sateligence CEO and satellite monitoring expert Niels Wielaard, Dr Gunarso Former Country Director Tropenbos International and Dr Abdullah of MPOC, experts on the Malaysian and Indonesian Regulatory Frameworks.

The webinar will be hosted by Marieke Leegwater of Solidaridad and SPOC lead.
